Summary: Sony is announcing pricing for its new TVs – BRAVIA 2 II, BRAVIA 5 Mini LED, and BRAVIA 8 II QD-OLED. Some of these prices are rather shocking, and given the current economic climate, could it be possible that Sony baked in tariff pricing? The BRAVIA 8 II gets a major price increase in the US, while Canadian prices are largely the same as last year.
Last week, Sony announced a trio of new TVs for their 2025 TV lineup. Including the BRAVIA 2 II, BRAVIA 5, and BRAVIA 8 II. At the time, Sony was not sharing pricing, however, they have now released pricing for all three models, and it’s not good news.
Starting off with the BRAVIA 2 II. The 55-inch model will be $699 in US and $849 in Canada. The 65-inch goes for $799 US or $999 Canadian, and the 75″ for $1,099 US or $1,299 Canadian.
The BRAVIA 2 II is the company’s new entry-level TV, so this will be one of the cheapest 2025 TVs you can get from Sony. Stepping up to Mini LED is the BRAVIA 5. This TV will be available in 55″, 65″, 75″, 85″, and 98″ sizes.
Sony BRAVIA 5 will start at $1,699 US and $1,999 Canadian for the 55-inch model. The 65-inch costs $1,799 US and $2,099 Canadian, the 75-inch costs $2,399 US and $2,799 Canadian, the 85-inch costs $2,999 US and $3,499 Canadian, finally, the 98-inch will cost $6,499 US and $8,499 Canadian.
Sony’s stunning new BRAVIA 8 II QD-OLED has an eye-watering price tag
If you thought those prices were absurd, just wait. The BRAVIA 8 II, which is the company’s new QD-OLED TV, is quite expensive, starting at $3,499. This was expected since the QD-OLED technology is still quite expensive, but it also looks like Sony may have baked in Tariff pricing into these new TVs.
The 55-inch BRAVIA 8 II will cost $3,499 in the US and $4,299 in Canada. With the 65-inch costing $3,999 in the US and $4,999 in Canada.
The BRAVIA 8 II is a stunning TV, however this price will definitely break the bank.
