Summary: Vivo has confirmed the chip, battery, and display specs of the X200 Ultra ahead of April 21 launch. The Snapdragon 8 Elite will fuel the phone, as expected. A 2K Zeiss Master Color display will be used, along with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. A 6,000mAh battery was also confirmed, along with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.
Vivo’s new flagship X200 Ultra is in the pipeline and will be unveiled on April 21. We already have a hands-on video and some details about the handset. However, it seems the Chinese tech giant is not stopping there and is now detailing the smartphone’s chip, battery, and display specs.
Vivo reveals X200 Ultra’s chip, battery, and display specs
The Vivo X200 Ultra will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Furthermore, the company will include its in-house VS1 and V3+ chips to process images and videos captured with the device successfully.
The company says the smartphone will have a 2K Zeiss Master Color panel. A 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor will be integrated under the display for security. Additionally, the product will be protected with Armor Glass technology.
The handset will be powered by a 6,000mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. Considering its predecessor had a 5,500mAh unit, there are no significant improvements in battery capacity or charging speeds.
The device is said to support bypass charging, which allows it to draw power directly from the adapter without charging the battery. This helps prevent the battery from overheating during long gaming sessions, keeping the temperature under control and avoiding issues such as performance throttling.
The smartphone is going to be a photography beast
The Vivo X200 Ultra, like its predecessors, will attract attention with its cameras. The device will feature a 50 MP 1/1.28-inch main camera, a 50 MP 1/1.28-inch ultrawide camera, and a 200 MP 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto sensor.
All of these will be housed in a gigantic camera module. However, it seems that the high-end camera experience the device offers won’t be limited to these cameras.
The Chinese brand will include a photography kit for the device, similar to what Xiaomi offers. This accessory will connect to the phone via USB-C and also function as a 2,300mAh power bank.
This kit will be sold separately from the standard package. It is said to come with an integrated stand and a dedicated video recording button. Vivo’s Product VP Huang Tao also mentioned that the accessory includes a hidden feature, although he hasn’t disclosed what it is yet.
The company previously confirmed the Vivo X200 Ultra’s color lineup. The smartphone will be available in Black, Red, and White/Silver color variants.
