YouTube has introduced a handful of new video creation features for Shorts. The company designed its new tools to help you easily create short-form videos on the platform. The new YouTube Shorts include an improved video editor, auto sync of edits with music, image stickers, AI stickers, and templates. YouTube has introduced new features for Shorts ahead of the April 5th TikTok ban deadline in the US.

Improved video editor and templates for YouTube Shorts

YouTube has announced that it’ll soon roll out an improved video editing tool for the Shorts creators. It will allow you to make precise adjustments and edits to the timing of every short video with zooming and snapping. You’ll also be able to rearrange or delete clips to make a rough cut, add music or timed text, and preview your Short before posting.

Furthermore, YouTube will let you pull photos from your phone’s gallery and use them in Shorts video templates. Soon, you’ll see new effects in templates too. When you use a template to create a short-form video, the system will now automatically attribute the original creator.

Furthermore, you’ll soon be able to pick a song, and a tool will automatically align your Shorts with the music’s rhythm. It will eliminate the headache of manually syncing audio with videos. Also, you’ll be able to use image stickers in your Shorts, right from your device’s gallery. Besides, YouTube will let you create AI stickers with a simple text prompt.

YouTube has announced that all the aforementioned new features for Shorts creators will start rolling out later this spring. Given the timing of the announcement, the company is likely looking to lure creators to its platform and capitalize on the void left by TikTok if its ban in the United States resumes again on April 5th.
