Android Jelly Bean Information:
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was unveiled at Google I/O in June 2012. Google showcased the new version of their operating system on company's first tablet offering, a 7-inch Nexus 7 tablet manufactured by Asus. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is Google's 7th big Android iteration and Google introduced a lot of improvements and features along with this OS update. Google improved the UI, Google Search experience by introducing Knowledge Graph integration and the company introduced a new digital assistant Google Now. One big thing to note about this update is the "Project Butter", this is what Google calls the work they've done in order to optimize OS' visual performance and responsiveness. Graphical output got triple buffered throughout the UI and vsync is also used. Google optimized the OS so that CPU is brought to full power when touch input occurs which basically prevents lag in a way. All these changes allow the OS to run at full 60 FPS (Frames Per Second), if the hardware is up to par of course. Google announced 2 more updates which carried the Jelly Bean name, 4.2 and 4.3. These updates were released in October 2012 and June 2013 respectively. Both of those updates focused mainly on performance improvements, in other words, under the hood changes were made, a ton of them though.

The best way to describe the Jelly Bean update(s) is "optimization". This update did bring a ton of features as well, but Google made a huge emphasis on "Project Butter" and how they optimized the UI. A ton of changes under the hood made it possible for Google to release the smoothest Android experience yet. Android Jelly Bean was a much-needed improvement and it made it possible for Android to mature as a platform. Google Now is a really promising assistant service and if Google keeps on developing its possibilities who knows what will happen in a few years. Jelly Bean is definitely an improvement in comparison to Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich), that is to be expected though, as always. Anyhow, keep up the great work Google.
