Best Fitness Trackers Under $200

Fitness tracker options are in abundance and while some can be a little more expensive, there are many affordable fitness trackers under $200.

Fitness trackers are often a better option than smartwatches too if you’re not looking for something full-featured. They’re lighter, they cost less money on average, and they can technically go with just about anything else you wear. Some smartwatches can also make a good fitness tracker due to their incorporated fitness features. This is why smartwatches are included in this list as you can find some for under $200.

Fitness trackers are your gateway to a better you with loads of ways to help improve your health. This can be physical, emotional, and mental health as well. Fitness trackers now have apps for tracking different sports, heart rates, and sleep, and they come with breathing and other mindfulness exercises, including ways to manage stress and meditate. So there are lots of ways to make sure you’re as healthy as you can be.

Whatever your reason is in searching for a fitness tracker, we’ve rounded up the best fitness trackers under the $200 mark. This way you can spend less time looking for a suitable fitness tracker while also spending less money on the one you pick.

Best overall fitness tracker under $200: Fitbit Charge 6

The Fitbit Charge 6 is our pick for the overall best fitness tracker under $200 for several reasons. For one, it’s just a solid fitness tracker and offers a ton of features. And with Fitbit now being owned by Google, it has access to Google apps. This is one of the major reasons why we love this tracker and why it’s our choice for the best overall option.

Normally this tracker would retail for $159.95, but Amazon has it on sale for $129.95 right now. That saves you $30 and puts this tracker $70 under the $200 mark. So we’d say that’s a win. When it comes to design, the Fitbit Charge 6 is fairly stylish the way it comes in the box, which is in three different colors with a silicone band. The colors are black with a black band, gold with a red band, and silver with a white band.

You can also find different bands for the Charge 6 that are made from different materials. Such as leather, vegan leather, woven textiles, and there’s even a different style of sport band. The Charge 6 also comes with a 6-month free membership of Fitbit Premium, and this is actually a pretty awesome perk to have. Fitbit Premium allows you access to all kinds of stuff to enhance your fitness journey. One of my favorite features is the access to Calm meditation tracks. You can get this without Fitbit Premium, but then you’ll need to pay for the actual Calm membership. So this is a nice way to get the Calm features.

You can use the Charge 6 to track more than 40 different exercises and workouts, and if you wear it to bed it can track your sleep. With sleep tracking, some of the metrics will be visible on the Charge 6 itself, but a more detailed look at your sleep metrics can be viewed in the Fitbit app, which the Charge 6 connects to.

You’ll also get about a week of battery life on this thing with just a single charge. And that’s pretty good. It’s certainly better than most smartwatches out there. And we all know how great it is to have one less thing that needs to be plugged in every night or two to charge. You know what’s also great? This has access to Google Maps for directions and navigation. All from your wrist. So you can bring up navigation while out cycling, running, or walking and only have to look at your wrist for the information. It’s also a nice option to have while driving.

The Google Wallet app is available as well so you can use tap to pay at store checkouts. Which is super convenient. Additionally, you can install YouTube Music for playback controls. All-in-all, this is an excellent fitness tracker and it doesn’t cost a whole lot these days. So if you’re going for a tracker over a smartwatch, this is the one we’d go with over anything else.

Best fitness tracker under $200 for budget shoppers: Samsung Galaxy Fit 3

While the price of the Fitbit Charge 6 is an excellent deal, there are more affordable fitness trackers out there. And when it comes to affordable fitness trackers, none are better than the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3. That’s why we’ve selected it as our option for the best affordable fitness tracker under $200.

What we love most about this tracker is that it has a pretty big display for a fitness tracker. This makes it so, so much easier to see things on it at a glance. And you’d be surprised how important it can be to have this kind of glanceability at a moment’s notice. Sometimes you only have a second or two to look at your wrist for the kinds of information a fitness tracker would provide. The bigger the screen is, the easier things are to read, and the more likely you are to only spend that quick second looking down at that information.

The display is also AMOLED, so it’s easier to read in direct sunlight as well. And that paired with a big display size is great to have. It’s also worth mentioning that since this is a Samsung device, it’s going to be higher quality than a lot of other stuff out there. It can track most if not all of the things you’d want a fitness tracker to track. This includes sleep tracking, and even if you’ve never used this kind of feature before, believe me, it’s really nice to have.

If you’re like me and you don’t always end up getting the best sleep, one way you can improve it is by tracking your sleep with a feature like this on the Galaxy Fit 3. This way you can see metrics like your sleep stages, so you know when you were in REM sleep, deep sleep, light sleep, and more. With this and more sleep information, you can find out where you’re not getting the best sleep and get suggestions to help you improve your sleep.

When you’re more well-rested, you perform better in your day’s tasks. So this can be extremely useful. Naturally, this can track steps and heart rate as well. Additionally, it tracks tons of different exercises. A fair amount of them will also start being tracked by the Galaxy Fit 3 automatically. So you don’t have to do anything extra, just start exercising and let the tracker do the rest. Then you can check up on things throughout the workout or after you’re done.

You can also use this tracker to help manage stress, and it can read your blood oxygen levels if you want that information. Plus, it has a battery life of up to 13 days which is very good. Normally this tracker retails for $59.99, but Amazon currently has it on sale for $47.72. Of course, that price may not stick around for long. So keep that in mind.

Best fitness tracker under $200 for battery life: Amazfit Band 7

If you’re looking for a fitness tracker that costs less than $200 and gives you the best battery life possible, then look no further than the Amazfit Band 7. Amazfit has always been known for offering some decent quality smartwatches and fitness trackers, and they’re usually very affordable with long-lasting batteries. The Galaxy Fit 3 certainly lasts a while at 13 days on a single charge, but the Amazfit Band 7 trounces this.

It offers a battery life of up to 18 days on a single charge. That’s well on its way to going three weeks without needing a recharge which is downright incredible. And if you put it into battery saver mode, it’ll last for up to 28 days. The best part is, that it only costs $49.99, and Amazon even has it on sale right now for $44.99. So you pay a relatively small amount of money for a tracker that does a ton of stuff, is made well, and won’t need to be recharged for quite a while.

That is a combination of factors that we believe easily earns the Amazfit Band 7 a spot on this list. And just to touch on the price again, a full retail price of $49.99 makes this a super easy gift to pick up for just about anyone as it won’t break the bank. Not to mention, if it ever gets physically damaged, it’s cheap to replace.

In terms of fitness-related features, the Amazfit Band 7 is no slouch. Naturally, it tracks steps and heart rate so you can see how much exercise you’re getting in just with steps at any time. And if you’re doing anything that exerts more energy, you can check your heart rate after taking a quick break. Among other things, fitness trackers are great for being able to go hands-free, and you can do that even more efficiently with the Amazfit Band 7 because it has Alexa built-in.

With Alexa, you can use your voice to issue commands, Ask questions, and more. This is great for anyone who has other Alexa-supported smart devices around the home. Say you have a full kit of smart lights in your house and a smart lock, and you’re about to go out for a run. You can ask Alexa to turn off the lights, and then lock the door once you’re outside. Simple, fast, and hands-free.

Another really neat thing about the Amazfit Band 7 is that it has stress monitoring, breathing exercises, and several apps you can install. It even has a large 1.47-inch HD AMOLED display so it’s about the same size as the Galaxy Fit 3. This can track your menstrual cycles as well if you need a tracker that has that feature. And if you like customization, the Amazfit Band 7 has over 50 different watch faces you choose from.

Best fitness tracker under $200 for running: Garmin Forerunner 55

If running is your main concern with a fitness tracker, then you definitely want to go with the Garmin Forerunner 55. It’s not only available for under $200, but it performs exceptionally well for running thanks to all of Garmin’s advanced features. This is more of a smartwatch than a fitness tracker but as we mentioned above, smartwatches can function as fitness trackers too, and with the price on this one it fits nicely into this list.

For starters, it has a long-lasting battery which bodes well if you have a busy lifestyle. Chances are, if you’re always busy and on the go a lot, you have less time to think about the little things, such as charging your devices. That’s not to say it’s not entirely possible to remember these small details, but it is certainly a lot easier to forget them if you’re constantly moving. That’s why you’ll love the Garmin Forerunner 55. Because it has a battery life of up to 14 days.

The one caveat to this is if you turn on the GPS function. This bumps the battery life down to a maximum of 20 hours. So if you use GPS every time you go out on a run, you’ll most likely be charging the watch at night. That also depends on how long you have the GPS enabled. In many cases, you may only have it turned on for a couple of hours. At this point, the watch should be fine with plenty of battery life left for days to come.

Outside of battery life, the Garmin Forerunner 55 is a runner’s best friend. With GPS, downloadable maps, and tons of running features, it’ll be like you’re wearing a trainer on your wrist. One of the best running features on this watch is the Garmin Coach. This feature gives you guidance on how to approach your training and the tips come from expert coaches. This is where it feels like you have a coach with you helping you achieve your goals and inspiring you to do your best every time you go out for a run.

Additionally, Garmin Coach adapts to your own personal goals to give you a customized training plan that fits your lifestyle. There are also the Body Battery and Intensity Minutes. Intensity Minutes is essentially just a way for you to track when you were up and about staying active. And of course, staying active is an important part of improving your physical health and well-being. Intensity Minutes help you track this and give it a score so you can see how well you’re doing.

The Body Battery, meanwhile, tells you when you need to recharge your energy so you’re well-equipped for your workouts the next day. It lets you see if you’re good to go for another workout or if you should take a rest. Helping ensure you don’t overdo things. Naturally, the Garmin Forerunner 55 also has smartphone notifications, apps like a digital wallet for tap-to-pay, music controls, and much more. Plus, it costs $199.99 at full retail which isn’t bad, although Amazon currently has it on sale for $163.69

Best smart ring fitness tracker under $200: Amazfit Helio

This is a growing segment in the fitness tracker category but there aren’t a whole lot of options out there that are available for under $200. Not good options, anyway. Luckily, Amazfit now makes a smart ring. Amazfit is well-known for having some very competitive prices. So if you’re looking for a fitness tracker that won’t break the bank, then Amazfit is usually one of the best options. The Helio ring is available for $199.99 at full retail, although right now Amazon has it for $169.99. Either way, it fits in right under $200.

So if you want a decent smart ring that comes in under this price point, this is it. Like the Amazfit Band 7, the Helio ring will connect to your phone using the Zepp app. From there, you can view all the insights that the ring picks up while you wear it. Since this doesn’t have a display, this is the type of tracker you want to go for if you just want to track more basic health and fitness data. Some people aren’t concerned with having another screen on their wrist and in this case, the Helio ring is perfect.

It’ll still track a variety of health and fitness metrics, and when you need or want to view those metrics, you just open the Zepp app on your phone. Easy peasy. In terms of what this ring tracks, it can track sleep, steps, heart rate, and blood oxygen. If you’re using an iPhone it can also track heart rate variability. Additionally, the Helio ring can track other fitness data like VO2 Max.

The ring can work with the app to be your sleep coach as well. Helping you view insights into your sleep so you can see where and how to improve it. The downside is this ring is only available in 8, 10, and 12 for ring sizes. So it’s a little more limiting in terms of who it will fit. As for battery life, it can last for about 4 days, which isn’t bad at all. While this won’t do nearly as much as the other trackers on here, it does enough if you just want something simple.
