Google officially announced the Pixel Buds Pro 2 on August 13, and pre-orders for them are already live if you want to pick them up ahead of the launch date. The earbuds officially launch on September 26, so there’s still a couple of weeks before they will start hitting online and physical store shelves. That also means there’s a couple of weeks to wait before you receive them.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 look a lot like the original Pixel Buds Pro, but there are some notable upgrades. One of the more exciting features is the Conversation Detection. This feature will automatically pause your music and turn on the Transparency Mode when the earbuds detect that you’re talking. This will be an excellent feature to have if you use the earbuds to listen to music anywhere you might end up striking up a conversation. For example, at store checkout stands when or if you need to talk to the cashier.
Battery life is pretty good on the earbuds as well. They will last for 8 hours of listening time with the active noise cancellation enabled. In total, they will last for up to 30 hours of listening time with the charging case. Plus, the charging case supports wireless charging for some added convenience. Additionally, these are slightly smaller as Google shaved off some of the size from the original model.
