More take off with easyJet in April

Budget airline easyJet flew 5.1 million passengers in April, up 8.6% on the same month last year when Britons flocked abroad to escape the Royal Wedding.

Its load factor — a measure of how many of its seats are occupied — during the month rose from 86.5% to 89.3% year-on-year.

So far this year, easyJet has flown 56 million passengers, up from the 52 million who checked in by this time in 2011.
