The West End is bracing for box office gold as Hollywood heavyweight Bryan Cranston prepares to make his triumphant return to London theatre in Arthur Miller's All My Sons.

The actor is in stellar company with Oscar winner Marianne Jean-Baptiste and actor of the moment, Paapa Essiedu in what promises to be one of the most talked-about productions of 2025.

The strictly limited season at Wyndham's Theatre from 14 November 2025 to 7 February 2026 marks a major reunion between Cranston and avant-garde director Ivo van Hove following their acclaimed collaboration on Network, which earned the Breaking Bad star both Olivier and Tony Awards.

Van Hove, the radical Belgian director whose revelatory productions have redefined modern theatre, expressed his exhilaration at assembling this dream cast this week: "I am thrilled to return to the West End to direct All My Sons and to reunite with the great Bryan Cranston.

“It is also a privilege to collaborate with the brilliant Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Paapa Essiedu, whose work I have long admired."

His production will mark the third Miller play in van Hove's formidable repertoire, following his seismic A View from the Bridge with Mark Strong and The Crucible with Ben Whishaw - both of which transferred to Broadway after critical acclaim.

For Cranston, this represents another daring career move following his recent turn in Wes Anderson's The Phoenician Scheme and the upcoming Malcolm in the Middle revival.

The actor, who transforms completely for every role from Trumbo to Breaking Bad's Walter White, today acknowledged the gravitational pull of Miller's writing: "Arthur Miller, Ivo van Hove, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Paapa Essiedu...

“If there is something that I know beyond a shadow of doubt, is to surround yourself with the most talented people."

His portrayal of self-made businessman Joe Keller - whose wartime profiteering unravels with devastating consequences - will likely become another awards contender.

The production unites Cranston with two of Britain's most respected actors. Marianne Jean-Baptiste, fresh from her BAFTA-nominated turn in Mike Leigh's Hard Truths, takes on the pivotal role of Kate Keller, bringing her formidable emotional range to Miller's complex matriarch.

"I am thrilled to get the opportunity to work with Ivo," she said today, "and am very excited to work with both Bryan and Paapa of whom I am a huge fan."

Essiedu, the I May Destroy You star currently filming the BBC drama Babies, completes the central family as Chris Keller - another milestone for the actor following his Olivier-nominated Death of England: Delroy.

Miller's 1947 masterpiece - his first major success before Death of a Salesman - remains relevant in its examination of moral compromise and the corrosive pursuit of profit.

The story of the Keller family's unravelling as wartime secrets surface has drawn comparisons to contemporary corporate scandals and political cover-ups.

Van Hove emphasised its enduring power: "All My Sons is a devastating exploration of guilt, responsibility, and the far-reaching consequences of our choices, especially in times of war. Its themes of personal integrity and moral reckoning remain as urgent and resonant today as ever."

Cranston's last London stage appearance in Network became the hottest ticket in town, with his volcanic performance as "mad prophet of the airwaves" Howard Beale leaving audiences stunned.

Early indications suggest similar demand for All My Sons, with tickets going on sale from April 10 and the limited season almost certain to sell out quickly.

The casting continues a remarkable trend of Hollywood stars delivering career-best work on London stages, from Gillian Anderson in All About Eve to Andrew Garfield in Angels in America.

As the man who brought Walter White to life knows better than most: great drama emerges when good people make bad choices. Miller's timeless play, promises to be a must-watch.
