Strictly fans SLAM judges as Seann Walsh and Katya Jones praised for ‘outstanding’ Charleston after KISS

Strictly Come Dancing fans were fuming after the judges praised Seann Walsh and Katya Jones for an “outstanding” Charleston.

The couple, who were pictured passionately kissing behind their partners’ backs, returned to the BBC ballroom on Saturday night despite calls for them to be removed.

Bruno Tonioli was up off his chair as he praised the routine. “You threw everything at it but the kitchen sink,” he said. “You even got the fire oven. It was so manic, but manic in a good way.”

Head judge Shirley Ballas said: “That choreography, that routine was outstanding. High energy. I thought you did extremely well.”

Darcey Bussell also heaped praise on the routine as well as Craig Revel Horwood who failed to say anything negative.

Viewers failed to agree, with many taking aim at the judges’ dishing out 28 points.

One viewer tweeted: “Has someone put something in the judges’ water? Why the hell would you give Seann such high scores?! #strictly.”

A second posted: “Sorry @ShirleyBallas I love you, but Seann's dance was NOT an 8! #strictly.”

A third wrote: “Seann's score did not reflect what I saw #strictly #scd.”

Despite huge praise from the judges, the couple are the current favourites to get the boot this week, with odds of 5/4 according to Betfair.

Katya and Walsh made public apologies on spin-off show It Takes Two earlier this week following a huge backlash over their actions.

Walsh was dumped by his girlfriend of five years Rebecca Humphries who also accused him of being “controlling” and of calling her a “psycho” when she questioned his relationship with Katya.

Walsh denied the allegations, saying he “regrets” the “one-off drunken mistake” but that he is “not the man he is being portrayed as”.

Katya said she and Neil, who she married in 2013, are “fine”. But the professional dancer looked far from it as he kept his distance from Walsh on Saturday night.

This week saw Stacey Dooley top the leader board with 33 points on partner Kevin Clifton's birthday. But it was disappointment for Katie Piper who finished bottom with 18 points.
