Going Out

At an in-restaurant showing of Ed Picard’s film Chef Adam, starring Adam Hardiman of Madame Pigg in Dalston, that cheeky chap for whom I have developed maternal pride serves bountiful seafood salad.

Lunchtime is calmer, the better for appreciating Tania Steytler’s cooking at her residency inspired by travels along the Mekong. Fried Dorset trout with sugared chilli dressing is ace.

Fortunate in having Kay Plunkett-Hogge, author of the recent Baan: Recipes and Stories from My Thai Home, ordering at Hammersmith’s 101 Thai Kitchen, I particularly relish No. 80, prawn with sator seeds.

Celebrating Bastille Day at Bibendum, Claude Bosi serves up his Lyonnais heritage in delectable ways including saucisson aux pistaches en brioche, with a punchy jus.

Salt Yard in Goodge Street sweetly serves particularly fine jamón Iberico de Bellota.
