The Google Pixel 5 is available to pre-order right now from the Google Store, Google Fi, and Verizon.
It appears that Verizon is the only carrier carrying the Pixel 5 this year. That’s a return to the Pixel, Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 days. Where Verizon had the exclusive on it. But that does not mean it won’t work on other carriers. It’s just not being sold by other carriers.
You can purchase it for Verizon, Unlocked or for Google Fi, from the Google Store. This also coincides with the report this morning that Google is only planning to make 800,000 Pixel 5 smartphones this year. And by only bringing it to one carrier, it means that there are less SKUs.
The Pixel 4a 5G is not yet available for pre-order, you are only able to join the waitlist for it. We heard before the announcement today, that the Pixel 4a 5G wouldn’t be shipping til November 19. So this sounds about right. And according to Verizon, pre-orders for the Pixel 4a 5G will start on October 29.
Google Store
You can pre-order the Pixel 5 from the Google Store right now. It costs $699 or you can pay monthly installments of $29.16 per month for 24 months.
As of this writing, the Sorta Sage color is already out of stock. But the Just Black color is still available.
The Google Store is offering three variants of the Pixel 5: Verizon, Unlocked and for Google Fi. Though the Google Fi one is likely unlocked too.
Verizon
Verizon is the only carrier carrying the Pixel 5 this year. It is available in Just Black and Sorta Sage as well.
It costs $699 this time, so it is not upcharging on this model, like it has done in the past. It will work with Verizon’s 5G network too. But the Pixel 4a 5G is another story.
If you don’t want to pay the whole amount up front, there is also the payment plan which is also $29.16 per month.
Verizon is offering the ability to get the Pixel 5 for free. That is with an eligible trade-in and adding a new line of service.
The Pixel 5 is set to be available on October 15. But with there being such limited stock on the Pixel 5 this year, you may want to get your pre-order in as soon as possible.
