New homes in Catford Green: five per cent deposit required for £338k flats overlooking Ladywell Fields park

Buyers camped overnight to be first in the queue for Help to Buy homes at Catford. For decades the area’s main draw was the greyhound stadium — now closed — while the Zone 3 location, flanked by two train stations with 15-minute commutes to the City, was hardly noticed by central London workers.

In recent years, however, Catford’s relatively cheap stock of sturdy Victorian and interwar three-bedroom terrace houses, priced from about £350,000, has attracted young couples and families.

Now Catford Green, a scheme of 558 new homes, backs on to upgraded Ladywell Fields park and the Ravensbourne River.
