Showcasing the best craftsmanship from around the world, London Craft Week is back for its 7th edition (with a special focus on sustainability).

Held in various locations across the capital from 4-10 October, more than 250 established and emerging makers are taking part — specialising in everything from ceramics and textiles to metalwork and woodworking.

With an extensive programme of workshops, experiences, pop-ups and exhibitions, make the most of the week-long celebration of craft in the capital with our festival highlights.

Whether you’re a maker or a shaker, here’s our pick of what to look out for this week.

Keep your eyes on the official Insta account for all the LCW highlights – like this physical group exhibition from the Royal College of Art 2020 Textile graduates, taking place a year after their digital show during lockdown.

Featuring five streams  – Knit, Mixed Media, Print, Soft Systems and Weave – these impressive vase-like sculptures are the work of Sne Tak’s series: ‘Soft Vessel’.

@dharmataylor

In honour of her late, great grandad Harry (a self-taught carpenter), Dharma’s created a series of one-off wooden pieces, crafted from solid oak.

See her solo exhibition ‘Rug, Furniture, Sculptures and Slippers’ at @paulsmithdesign store in Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross.

@pompomfactory

Head to @paper_smiths Chelsea store to see a beautiful and sustainable window display from East London paper florist @pompomfactory.

They’re also hosting a (now sold out) workshop plus plenty of drop-in paper flower demonstrations over the weekend, where you can also buy your own crafty kit.

@adamnathanielfurman

Fancy a day on the tiles? Head to London School of Mosaic in Camden and create a colourful, communal piece with British Argentine-Japanese artist and designer, Adam Nathaniel Furman.

During the class, you’ll be working on the mosaic he designed especially for them.

Not only will you learn a new skill, but think of the Insta opportunities!

@daisy_tortuga

Join multi-disciplinary artist Daisy for a rug-tufting masterclass at @nowgalleryse10 on 9th October, inspired by the work of Birmingham-based illustrator @manjitthapp.

You’ll see Daisy making a rug in the gallery, designed by Manjit herself.

Plus, take home a tufted textile piece (ft. cute oranges and leaves) after the demonstration.
