Razer’s Wolverine V2 Pro controller for PS5 is packed full of features like Chroma lighting, HyperTriggers and much, much more. It’s fast becoming one of our favorite PS5 controllers for games that benefit from these extra controls. Although it can’t replace the immersive nature of things like the DualSense adaptive triggers or advanced haptics, it offers an elevated level of play that the standard DualSense just isn’t capable of.
Though we won’t categorize the Chroma lighting as one of those features, it’s still a cool thing to have if you enjoy your RGB. Even if it is just for you most of the time, you might find yourself wanting to adjust the Chroma lights on the Wolverine V2 Pro. And that’s where this guide comes in. We’ll walk you through the process step by step so you can adjust the lights, or turn them off anytime you want.
How to adjust or turn off the Chroma lights on your Razer Wolverine V2 Pro
Install the Razer Controller app
Whether you’re using Android or iOS, you’ll need to download and install the Razer Controller app for your mobile device. This will do more than just let you adjust the Chroma lighting. But for the purposes of this guide, we’ll focus on the Chroma.
Power on your controller
Next, you’ll need to power on your controller. Simply flip the toggle on the back of the controller from wired to wireless, then press and hold down the PlayStation button.
Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth
Bluetooth will need to be enabled on your device before you can adjust any of the controller’s lighting or other features. The app will prompt you turn it on if it isn’t already on beforehand. But we recommend turning on Bluetooth first.
Launch the Razer Controller app
Next, open up the Razer Controller app.
Pair the controller
You’ll now need to pair the controller to the app. Now Tap the Add Controller button at the bottom.
Select Razer Wolverine V2 Pro
You should see a few different options on this next page. Select Wolverine V2 Pro here.
Put your controller into pairing mode
Right after you click the add new controller button and select the Wolverine V2 Pro, tap next. This is when you’ll need to put the controller into pairing mode. To do this, press and hold the two buttons below the PlayStation button. After a few seconds you should see the touch bar lights rapidly flash blue. The app will be scanning for the controller and should find it a few seconds after the controller’s pairing mode is enabled. If not, simply try again.
Select a profile to activate
Razer has baked in four different preset profiles designed for specific genres of games. Shooter, Fighting, Sports, and Racing. Select one and move forward.
Tap the active profile
Next, tap the active profile at the bottom of the page.
Open Chroma effects
Once you tap on the active profile, scroll down the page and you should see a button to open Chroma effects. Tap that button to continue.
Tap the effects button
Now that you’re on the Chroma effects page, first tap the Chroma effects button in the bottom right corner. You’ll have a few different options in here for effects, including Static, Spectrum, and Breathing. You can also turn the Chroma lights off from here.
Select your Chroma color (if applicable)
If you’re choosing the breathing or static effects, you’ll be able to choose your color for those effects. You can do this by dragging your finger around the color circle in the middle. Alternatively, you can also type or paste in the hex color code. To use the hex color code, tap the pound sign button in the top right corner. Once a color is selected, you can tap the color square in the bottom left corner to adjust the color intensity.
And that’s it. Once you select your color you can back out of the Chroma effects page or just close the app entirely. You can also change the Chroma lighting for each of the four profiles. Then activate that profile each time you want to see those lighting effects.
