The ability to take a screenshot on your smartphone is pretty important and very useful. Whether you want to save a meme, or maybe a receipt or some other important information. Luckily, both Google and Apple make it very easy to take a screenshot on their phones. And the methods are pretty similar, surprisingly. So today, we’re going to show you how you can take a screenshot on iPhone and Android.
Here’s how you can take a screenshot on iPhone and Android.
How to take a screenshot on iPhone and Android
The method of taking a screenshot on Android and iPhone is almost the same. They are slightly different, which we’ll go over here. On some Android phones there will be additional ways to take screenshots. Like Samsung offers numerous ways to take a screenshot, which you can see here.
iPhone
On the iPhone, the way to take a screenshot is pretty simple. Press the Volume Up button and Power button together. After a couple of seconds, you’ll see an animation that the screenshot was taken.
Now, if you’re using an older iPhone, like the iPhone 8 or older, as well as any iPhone SE, which has a home button, it’s going to be a bit different. For those iPhones, you’ll need to hold the Power and Home buttons together. And like with the newer iPhones, after a second or two, you’ll see the animation that the screenshot was taken.
Android
On Android, while some OEMs will offer other ways to take a screenshot, nearly every Android device does have this same method. Which is to press the Volume Down and Power buttons together. After a couple of seconds, the animation will take a screenshot, and you’ll see at the bottom of the screen. Which also provides a few other tools that you can use, like cropping the screenshot, taking a full-page screenshot and more.
And that’s how you can take a screenshot on both Android and iOS.
