Nintendo will officially hold its first Direct livestream event of the year today, February 8, and Nintendo fans definitely don’t want to miss it. While no two events are the same, one thing that usually carries over from Direct to Direct are new game announcements. You can always expect Nintendo to announce upcoming new releases. They won’t necessarily always be announcements for large AAA games. But they will be titles you can look forward to playing at some point in the future.
With that being said, if you’re planning to watch the Nintendo Direct event, here’s how and when you can catch up on the latest of what Nintendo will have to offer.
When to watch Nintendo Direct
Nintendo has confirmed it will be streaming its next Direct event on February 8 at 2pm Pacific Standard Time. That means if you’re on the east coast, you’ll be able to watch the event at the end of your day since it’ll be happening at 5pm Eastern Standard Time.
What to expect from the livestream
Nintendo obviously isn’t going to spill the beans about what it has planned to showcase. At least when it comes to specifics. The company did however mention vague details about the announcements. Here’s what you can look forward to seeing if you watch. Nintendo says that the livestream will last “roughly 40 minutes” long. That’s plenty of time to show off a ton of new upcoming games.
Nintendo doesn’t mention which studios they’re coming from. But that’s completely fine because that would spoil the surprise. However, Nintendo does state that the livestream will be mostly focused on Nintendo Switch games that will launch in the first half of 2023. With that in mind, expect a mix of previously unannounced games and release date trailers for games that may have been announced towards the end of last year.
We may see some more footage of the upcoming Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom. Perhaps a deeper dive into the game’s combat system and/or more about the story or various other features. There’s also speculation that there may be some announcements regarding Square Enix games. Then of course there’s a likelihood of announcements surrounding other Nintendo properties like Advance Wars, the new Bayonetta Origins title, and more.
How to watch the livestream
Nintendo will hold the livestream on its official YouTube channel. You can view the livestream from the video above. You can also watch directly on YouTube, or via Nintendo’s official Direct page on Nintendo.com.
Tune in at 2 p.m. PST tomorrow, Feb. 8, for a #NintendoDirect livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes of information mostly focused on #NintendoSwitch games launching in the first half of 2023.
