How To Watch College Football Bowl Games – 2019-2020

There are forty bowl games happening this year, giving College Football fans a ton of post-season football to watch, and kick off the new year with.

The New Years Six include the six biggest bowl games, with four happening on New Years Day and the other two being part of the College Football Playoff (the semifinals, which are actually a few days before New Years Day). Followed by the National Championship on January 13. Which, this year, it’ll be between Clemson and LSU.

With all that football, how do you watch these games, especially if you don’t have cable, and have cut the cord? Well, this year, streaming services have made it easier than ever to watch all of the College Football Bowl Games. The majority of them are on ESPN, with only a handful on other networks like Fox and CBSSN. Luckily, almost all streaming services include all three of those networks.

Sling TV is likely your best bet for streaming TV

When it comes to streaming TV platforms, Sling TV is going to be your best bet for watching this years bowl games. In its Sling Orange plan which is just $20 per month, it includes all of the ESPN channels, and of course ABC is a local channel so that is free anyways.

Sling TV does include a free seven-day trial too, so if you do want to watch a couple of games, but don’t want to pay for a full month, the free trial should have you covered.

ESPN apps are the best way to watch on mobile

If you subscribe to a streaming TV service like Sling TV, YouTube TV or something else, or still have cable, you will be able to open up the ESPN app and watch it on your smartphone. You’ll just need to sign in via your provider.

All of the games that are airing on ESPN, are going to be available through the app. So even if you can’t be home in front of your TV, you’ll still be able to watch the game.

Now if you’re looking for a bowl game that’s on Fox, you’ll be able to watch it through the Fox Sports app. Or if you’re looking for the CBS Sports Network (CBSSN), that can be found through the CBSN app (that’s CBS’ 24/7 news network app).

If you’re out of the country, try a VPN

If you’re not within the USA this holiday season, don’t fret. You can still watch every single bowl games, but you will need to use a VPN.

By using a VPN, you’ll be able to change your location to somewhere in the US. Allowing you to sign into the ESPN app, or stream via Sling TV, or AT&T TV NOW and other streaming services.

One of our favorites is NordVPN. It’s a pretty inexpensive VPN that does work really well. In fact, right now, you can take advantage of their holiday special, which gets you three years of NordVPN, plus NordPass and three months free, for just $3.49 per month. That works out to $125.64, and you’re good for 39 months. Unfortunately, you do have to pay it all up front.

Wrap Up

These are all of the different ways that you can watch the different bowl games this season. And of course, if you have cable, it’s even easier. Typically, you can watch the majority of these games for free without a subscription. Especially the National Championship game on January 13. As the sponsors and the NCAA want as many people watching the game as possible.
