Bin Laden's cyber terror threat

THE financial records of the West could be wiped out by a terrorist attack in cyberspace, bringing banking systems and economies to a standstill, a leading US security chief has warned.

Whitehouse adviser General John Gordon told a security conference that the Al Qaeda terror network was planning an attack using the internet.

Gordon gave few details but insisted that an 'attack is likely'.

Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden has expertise in cyber warfare, he said.
