Dairy weathers the milk strike

ONLY one of Robert Wiseman Dairy's 1,200 milk suppliers failed to deliver today despite a 24-hour strike by some farmers. Other suppliers such as Express Dairies reported very little effect on milk supplies to supermarkets and shops. About 20% of dairy farmers are members of Farmers For Action, who are withholding milk supplies today in protest at low prices. The militant farmers are lobbying Downing Street today and threaten further action if the Government fails to implement £500m of farming reforms.
