Lunch claims in Merrill court case

ALISTAIR Lennard, one of the Merrill Lynch fund managers at the centre of Unilever's £130m damages claim, told the High Court that Unilever pension chief Wendy Mayall had told him 'to carry on exactly as you have been doing' at a lunch also attended by his boss Carol Galley.
Unilever accuses Lennard of putting too much into too few investments. Lennard said Galley handed over to him because she was 'feeling a bit of pressure' over her performance from 1993 when her returns dropped.
