Two charged with murder after death of Kyrell Matthews, 2, in Thornton Heath

Police have charged a man and a woman with murder following the death of a toddler in south London.

Kyrell Matthews, two, was found at a house in Thornton Heath on October 20 last year.

He had suffered a cardiac arrest.

Phylesia Shirley, 23, of Bensham Manor Road, and Kemar Brown, 27, of Grange Park Road  – both in Thornton Heath – are due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court later on Tuesday via video link.

The pair are also charged with causing or allowing the death of a child, the Metropolitan Police said.
