Police today renewed appeals for witnesses after a father-of-three was killed when he was struck by a stolen car as he walked along the pavement.

Christopher Ritchie, 52, from Chadwell Heath, died last Wednesday around 7.30am when a blue Ford Focus mounted the kerb on Forest Drive, close to Manor Park station in Newham. The driver fled on foot.

Mr Ritchie’s family, who said he had never missed a day of work as a foreman for Manor Park Cemetery and Crematorium, have paid tribute to him.

Father-in-law Bert Moses, 86, said: “I can’t get over it.”

Witnesses can call 020 8597 4874.
