Thornton Heath stabbing: Man left fighting for life after knife attack in Croydon

A man in his 20s was left fighting for life after being stabbed in Croydon.

Scotland Yard was called to reports of a disturbance and stabbing in Bruce Road, Thornton Heath, at 4.19pm on Friday.

The man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. On Saturday morning, his condition was non-life threatening, according to the Met.

No arrests have been made and police are continuing to investigate the incident.

The Metropolitan Police said in an earlier statement: "Officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended and found a man in his twenties suffering from stab wounds.

"The Air Ambulance Service also attended and took the victim to a South London hospital where his condition is life-threatening."

A Section 60 stop and search provision has been put in place across the whole of Croydon.

A number of crime scenes are in place.
