A serving British Transport Police officer is due to appear in court charged with assaulting a 15-year-old girl while on duty at a north-west London station.

PC Adrian Young, who is based in London, has been charged with one count of assault by beating following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

The charge relates to an incident on September 22, 2024 at Camden Road underground station. A witness to the incident submitted a complaint to British Transport Police in October, prompting a referral to the IOPC.

Following the incident, PC Young was suspended from duty.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 9 April.
