Proof that Cockney hard man Ray Winstone is a softie after all. “I don’t get a chance to do a lot of family films — that’s because I was always stabbing someone,” the actor complained at a screening of Moonfleet, Sky’s Christmas adventure drama, in which he plays a swashbuckling smuggler.
“I’m good at the family stuff. I can do all that cuddling someone and giving them a kiss. The way stories are written today, 99 times out of 100 it’s about getting the bird and shooting someone.”
