
Questions remain over the Russian involvement in Mobile World Congress amid the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
Event organisers, the GSMA, said in a statement that it “strongly condemns” Russia’s actions and confirmed that a Russian Pavilion, an area used by some countries to showcase a number of smaller businesses in one place, would now not be present at the convention. However, the GSMA has not confirmed if a wider Russian presence would be allowed.
The four-day event is one of the biggest conventions for the launch of new mobile devices and gadgets by names such as; Samsung, Huawei and Nokia.
And there’s already big announcements coming out of Mobile World Congress.
For example, Samsung has revealed two new laptops for the ‘mobile-first generation’ designed for hybrid home and office working.
