A new filter doing the rounds on TikTok is both hilarious and horrifying in equal measure.
Parents on the short video-sharing platform have been using a new effect called GrinningFilter on their babies and the results are... interesting, to say the least. As you'd expect from the name, the filter applies a Cheshire Cat smile - complete with goofy-looking gnashers.
There have been over 760,000 views of the new #grinningfilter already, with the trend gaining traction overnight and this morning.
And while there's no question these children are adorable little squishes, the filter is definitely a jarring thing to see on an infant.

TikToker @Jreynolds94 is among the parents using the effect, with over 50,000 likes on her post.

When creating a TikTok video all you need to do to get the effect is tap on the filter button on the right of the camera screen.
Once you've done that, you'll be able to browse and add any filter that changes the look of your video.
If you want to try it out for yourself, the filter should be available in TikTok's library when recording a video on the app.
