Double murderer David Fuller filmed himself carrying out a spate of attacks on dead bodies at mortuaries inside the now closed Kent and Sussex Hospital and the Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
After hearing the news at her home in north London, mother Nevres Kemal, was so incensed with rage that she took a knife from the kitchen drawer intending to put it âstraight through his heartâ.
The 57-year-old told the Daily Mail: âMy only thought was, âHe is not going to get away this.â Iâd just been told heâd raped her in hospital when she was dead. It was incomprehensible. I felt I had to take things into my own hands â find him, punish him. Iâm her mother.
âIf Iâd found him, Iâm 99.99 per cent sure Iâd have put that knife straight through his heart because heâd put a knife through mine. The thought of him violating her â of touching her hair, touching her skin . . .

âBut as I walked towards the police station, all hell broke loose. Police officers seemed to spring from everywhere. I was handcuffed and thrown to the floor by eight or nine of them.
âThe two officers who had come to the house had telephoned in and said I was running around with a knife. But the police who arrested me didnât know what had happened. I was crying: âMy daughter was raped in hospital and sheâs dead.â They were looking at me, going, âDoes this woman need psychiatric help?â
Ms Kemal said she was then thrown into a jail cell for 34 hours.
She added: âThey kept me there that long because they thought maybe Iâd hurt myself.
âThey were also trying to get some family liaison officers there to tell me the exact details of what had happened to Azra.
âWhen they knew what had happened to Azra they were softer to me. One officer in the custody area was crying as she took my fingerprints, photographs and DNA. She said, âItâs awful. We canât believe it. Weâve never heard anything such as this.â

Ahead of his murder trial, Fuller pleaded guilty to 51 other offences, including 44 charges relating to 78 identified victims in mortuaries where he was working as an electrician.
Fullerâs shocking crimes were only discovered after he was arrested for the 1987 âbedsit murdersâ of Wendy Knell, 25, and Caroline Pierce, 20, in December last year following a DNA breakthrough.
The murderer had filmed himself carrying out the attacks, and the Crown Prosecution Service said police searches of Fullerâs home in Sussex to gather evidence in the murder investigation uncovered four million images of sexual abuse.
While most of these were downloaded from the internet, they revealed Fuller had also recorded himself abusing bodies over the course of his employment at the hospitals.
