The ever-popular Beano comic is celebrating its 80th birthday.
Responsible for the creation of beloved childhood favourites including Dennis the Menace, Walter the Softie and Minnie the Minx, the long-running comic remains popular with children (and adults) of all ages.
The Beano is among the last surviving publications from Britain’s post-war comic boom.
Hilarious tales of Dennis and Gnasher and the Bash Street Kids have outlived the likes of Bunty, The Eagle and The Topper.

The Beano has been a family favourite for 80 years
The Beano has been published by Dundee-based publishing house DC Thompson since 1836 and has had just seven editors in its eight-decade history.
It’s unique band of short-wearing anarchist characters has barely changed since the beginning.
Happy Birthday Beano!
