US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today hailed the bravery of journalists in Afghanistan after 10 were killed in separate attacks in a single day.
Nine journalists, including an award-winning photographer, died in an explosion in Kabul as they covered an earlier blast.
The Islamic State suicide attacks killed 26.
In Khost province, BBC Afghan service reporter Ahmad Shah, 29, was killed by unknown gunmen.
