When it comes to Android, Samsung does make the best tablet experience. This is partly due to the DeX feature that Samsung added a few years ago. Giving you a pretty good desktop experience here. And now with the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE, Samsung is giving you this tablet experience for less. Far less than the Galaxy Tab S9 series that Samsung debuted in Korea a couple months ago at Unpacked.
There’s technically three variants here. There’s the Galaxy Tab S9 FE along with a 5G variant and then a Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. One of the big differences is the LCD display here, versus an OLED that we see on the higher-end Galaxy Tab S9 models. It also sports an Exynos 1380, instead of a Snapdragon chipset, and sadly, you can actually feel the different right away. The Exynos 1380 is noticeably slower, but I think most people won’t really notice the difference. Since a lot of people use tablets for streaming content and writing some docs in Google Drive.
Thicker tablets, still with S Pen
Another change here is that the tablets are noticeably thicker than the Galaxy Tab S9, particularly the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Now, while this might not sound great, and might sound like a bad experience, I actually think it’s a good thing. You see, I’ve been using the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra for the past few months, and it’s super thin. The thinness makes it pretty uncomfortable to hold, and that’s also because of it’s size – it’s a 14.6-inch tablet. So this thickness does make it easier to hold, on top of how much smaller these are. These tablets are 10.9- and 12.4-inches respectively.
These tablets aren’t perfect, but they will get the job done, and you still get the S Pen in the box. So you can use it to take notes, as well as drawing and scrolling through the OS. So it’s the total package, at a lower price.
