Exceedingly romantic: Mr Kipling launches cake bouquet for Valentineâs Day

Forget chocolates. This year on Valentineâs Day, you can earn your brownie points with a drool-worthy combination of cake and flowers from none other than Mr Kipling.
As loved-up Brits prepare to spend an estimated £1.6 billion for the day of romance, the nationâs favourite cake maker has upped the ante by creating a hand-tied arrangement comprising 80 long-stemmed pink roses along with miniature Cherry Bakewells, French Fancies and Battenburgs.
Speaking of the bouquet, a Mr Kipling spokesperson said: âFor many years weâve been mixing, baking and perfecting our exceedingly scrumptious cakes, so this Valentineâs Day we wanted to spread the love even further.
As well as looking for something a bit different, over half of the people we spoke to also said theyâd love to receive their favourite cake on the day of romance, so we wanted to create a unique gift with real wow factor to share with their special someone.â
The super-sized âbou-cakeâ, which took approximately 12 hours to make, measures at 3ft tall and would reportedly cost £400.
If this kind of splurge doesnât fit into your budget, then the baker is selling a limited amount of small bou-cakes at Beaconsfield florist, Forever Green, at a more affordable price of £30.

Available to buy until February 14, each order comes complete with a complimentary box of special-edition Mr Kipling cakes.
As social media adds to the Valentineâs Day pressure, what better gift for your lover to show off on their Instagram page.
