Ashley Judd says she was blackballed by Harvey Weinstein because she âwasnât frightenedâ of him

Ashley Judd has insisted Harvey Weinstein was able to blackball her because she wasnât frightened of the disgraced producer.
The American star made the admission on BBC Hardtalk where she accused Weinstein of successfully ruining her career.
Speaking to Stephen Sackur she said: âI think that is why he blacklisted me and did unfortunately as we know now such a successful job sabotaging my career.â
Late last year, the actress accused Weinstein of pressuring her to give him, and receive, massages and also to watch him shower.

Wanting to get out of the bathroom, Judd said she made a deal with Weinstein that she would respond to advances when she won an Oscar for one of his films.
The 49-year-old has spoken once again about his conduct saying: âHe continued to harass me between â97 and â99 and I have other examples and I havenât gone into details because I donât want to give it oxygen.â

She continued: âHe absolutely harassed me [â¦]. I would bump into him at the hotel, at different events and he was always âwink wink, Iâm going to find that great part for youâ and at the premiere of Double Jeopardy in 1999 I had reached the âupâ with which I could no longer âputâ.
âI started to go at him and I was getting ready to call him out in front of whoever happened to hear, and he knew it and he said âYou know Iâm going to let you out of that little deal we madeâ and I said âYou do that, Harveyâ.â
Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex since the start of sexual harassment allegations last year.
The full interview airs Monday, January 15 on BBC World.
