Adele stuns with June Carter Cash transformation as fans beg her to ‘come back’ with new music

Adele looks unrecognisable after transforming into country star June Carter Cash in her latest impressive fancy dress makeover.

The 30-year-old singer shared a photo of herself on her Instagram account, dressed in a flowing brown wig and wearing a 50s-style lilac dress with lace embellishments.

For an extra touch of authenticity, she carried an autoharp, the distinctive chorded instrument which Carter Cash was known for playing.

To clear up any confusion about her new look, Adele captioned the post “June Carter Cash,” and added a red heart emoji.

Fans praised her “beautiful” costume, while others used the singer’s latest post as a platform to lobby her for new music and beg her to “come back.”

“Waiting for your next album,” one fan wrote.

“Please release a new album my Queen!” another weighed in, adding: “We miss you so much.”

“I need some new music in my life honey, come on bless us with that beautiful voice of yours,” another follower added.

Adele has not released new music since she unveiled her third studio album, 25, in November 2015. Debuting at number one in 32 countries, it has since sold over 22 million copies worldwide.

The singer has been on hiatus from the music industry after cancelling a spate of London shows in 2017 due to ill health, but a report last year suggested that she has been working on a fourth record.

The singer previously revealed her love of elaborate fancy dress transformations when she shared a picture of herself dressed up as “the effortless queen of song” Dolly Parton, wearing a spangled pink outfit and bouffant blonde wig.

To mark her 30th birthday last year, the singer indulged her “super fandom” of the 1997 film Titanic with a themed party, wearing an authentic period costume and a curly red wig to transform into Kate Winslet’s character Rose.
