Arctic Monkeysâ Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino: âalternativeâ new album leaves fans divided as Twitter reacts

Arctic Monkeys have left fans divided by their new 'alternative album', with some branding it a brave new direction and others lamenting the move away from their iconic sound.
Titled Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, the body of work has baffled fans of the rock band, with many taking to Twitter to vent.
Taking to social media to share their thoughts, some fans praised the album for its âmaturity" while others called it "pretentious".
One wrote: âReally digging the new album from Arctic Monkeys, feels so mature and I love the concept and the flow of the album.
âAlthough due to this, thereâs not too many stand outs. Itâs a very smooth and mellow listen and sits perfectly next to Everything Youâve Come to Expect.â
Whilst another said: âPersonally like the new Arctic Monkeys album, something a bit different. But anyone who s**** off someone for not liking it needs to get a grip, stop being so pretentious.â
Another posted: âArctic Monkeys back to their roots and couldnât be happier another sick style change.â
However others struggled to grasp the concept with some declaring that the group had âlost their iconic sound.â
One fan posted: âI honestly don't care if I 'don't get' this new album. I've always associated the arctic monkeys with fast-paced, relatable, catchy music, not whatever this new stuff is. I won't say it's bad, but it really isn't for me.â
Another wrote: âWaiting for Arctic Monkeys to confirm they dropped a steady album as a joke, then release an album of bangers.â
Meanwhile one tweeted: âI feel like I would be able to fall asleep listening to this new Arctic Monkeys album. Not because itâs relaxing or anything, itâs just so boring.â
