David Hasselhoff says taking selfies with fans has become âannoyingâ

As one of the most recognisable faces in the world, David Hasselhoff spends a lot of time posing for photographs and signing autographs.
But the actor known as âThe Hoffâ has revealed he finds taking selfies with fans tiresome and has devised an unusual way to fend them off.
The star, 64, told the Standard: âIt is annoying to do selfies with people. It is a double-edged sword. I love my fans and meeting them.
â[But] sometimes there are so many people I canât even turn around. If I am trying to get somewhere for 3.30pm and I have to do a hundred selfies I wonât get there.â

Hasselhoff says he and his fiancée, 36-year-old Hayley Roberts, pictured, have made up their own language to get out of selfie situations.
He said: âI have developed a stuttery nonsense foreign language that I just kind of say to people then run off.
âLike: âBut b-b-sorry⦠but w-w-what, sorry, hi, g-g-got, what⦠g-g-bye.â It works! I said to my fiancée, âThis is brilliant.
"Now I have a way to get away and people have no idea what I am saying.â You donât want to offend people and I love my fans. But I want to say no in a positive way.â
The former Baywatch star accepted a role in the upcoming movie version of the cult TV series, but with Zac Efron and Dwayne âThe Rockâ Johnson in lead roles.
He said: âI just thought, OK, these guys are great, so letâs just swallow the ego and pride and have a great time.â
The Hoff was talking following his appearance a the Brand Licensing Europe event at KensgintonOlympia - a three day gathering of the worldâs biggest brands.
Hasslehoff, whose face is on countless tshirts, mugs and who has even been made in to a doll, said he was considering extending his brand in to fitness and fashion.
âIt was a really cool day for me being here learning about brands. My brand - The Hoff - itâs bigger than ever.
"People run after me saying âThe Hoff! The Hoff! I think the next move for me is to bring out more merchandise. I exersice every day so maybe something along those lines like a DVD or work out gear. I spend a lot of money on suits so maybe a clothing line too. So watch this space.â
