Game of Thronesâ Rose Leslie surprises BBC Breakfast viewers with âposh accentâ


Rose Leslie surprised fans with her real accent during an appearance on BBC Breakfast.
The Game of Thrones star, who plays Northern Wilding Ygritte in the hit show, left a number of viewers shocked by her âposhâ voice.
During her interview on Friday morning, a number of viewers took to Twitter in surprise that Leslie wasnât really a northerner.
âRose Leslie's actual voice just made me do a double take. She's POSH?!,â wrote one viewer.
Another posted: âRose Leslie's accent frightfully posh.â
One Twitter user clearly couldnât contain his shock, posting: âROSE LESLIE'S REAL ACCENT. OH MY F****** LORD!â
âRose Leslie was lovely on @BBCOne but can't believe she isn't really Northern #YouKnowNothingJonSnow #GameOfThrones,â wrote someone else.
Leslie, who is about to tread the boards in new Mike Bartlett play Contradictions, opened up about the freezing conditions she has to suffer while shooting Game of Thrones.
After admitting that temperatures sometimes dropped to minus 18, she said: âWe were paranoid the camera lens would freeze over.
âBeing covered in fur helped,â she added when asked how she kept going.
Leslie, who is dating former co-star Kit Harington, recently admitted that she knew for a year that his character would be returning from the dead.
Speaking to the Standard, she said: âIâm such a moron. I had been spewing this lie for over a year ... It just regurgitated out of me to the point where it was almost effortless.â
