Lily James the literary heroine is longing to ditch those corsets...âfor a tracksuit and no bra

Lily James has made her name in period dramas - but now she cannot wait to ditch the corsets for a role which requires âa tracksuit and no braâ.
The actress, 26, rose to prominence as Lady Rose in Downton Abbey, before taking the lead role in hit film Cinderella.
She is currently on television as Natasha Rostova in War And Peace and will shortly be on the big screen in comedy horror Pride And Prejudice And Zombies.
Many of those roles have required her to squeeze into a corset, with James recently claiming that her dress for Cinderella was so tight that she had to stick to a soup diet.

James, from Esher, graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2010 and is still adjusting to fame.
She said: âI feel a lot of pressure. I feel it is a blessing and potentially a curse that I have played all these incredible literary heroines that are so loved and such wonderful characters. But I also feel a great responsibility and pressure, which can be very intimidating.â
Her next role, as a waitress in Edgar Wrightâs forthcoming movie Baby Driver, is a departure. She said: âIâm really looking forward to it.
"Iâm playing a young American waitress who is not from a novel, who is not massively intense and complicated and I donât have Jane Austen or Tolstoy to refer to!
âI have just my own imagination which is actually a bit of a relief. I didnât necessarily think I wanted to do another period drama and then War And Peace came along so I think it depends on what projects come along.
âBut Iâve learned so much at this stage in my career playing these parts. But I do want a bit of a break from ... I want to just have my own voice and wear jeans, maybe a tracksuit and no bra!â

James was preparing for the role of Natasha while still filming the final scenes of Downton, and sneaked her copy of War And Peace on to the set.
She said: âI carried it around with me everywhere, like a bible. My book is totally falling apart. Weâd be doing these scenes that would take all day to shoot and I would be hiding the book under the table.
âI would be reading it right up until they say, âAnd action!â and Iâd have to hide the book under the table in between takes, with a loud bang, it wasnât very subtle!
"If you look closely you might see my hand doing something strange under the table!â War And Peace is the first venture between Hollywood studio The Weinstein Company and the BBC.
James said the collaboration was âincredibly significantâ, adding: âItâs why it has worked so well and made it such an exciting project.
"The scale of it is so epic. Combining the BBC and the Weinstein [Company] just gives it so much more power because of their combined expertise, budget and experience.â
Later this year James will reunite with her Cinderella co-star, Richard Madden, for Kenneth Branaghâs West End production of Romeo And Juliet.
She said: âIâm really looking forward to doing theatre as Iâve been filming for the last couple of years, and I think itâs where you can be a bit bolder and take more risks.
"And I hope we can do something different and reinvent it.â
