Little Mix: We didnât hold back with the lyrics on Get Weird â weâve been naughty

Little Mix have revealed that they were very naughty when it came to writing material for their third album, Get Weird.
The girl group â made up of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock â didnât hold back with the lyrics but made sure to keep it appropriate for their younger fans.
Speaking to the Standard Online, Edwards said: âThereâs a lot of quirky songs on this album. OMG is a bit cheeky. Itâs a bit tongue in cheek.
âWe didnât hold back with the lyrics. Adidas for example is very naughty, but in an innuendo way so the young ones can listen to it and they wonât really get what itâs about. But older people will be like âoh rightâ. We kind of went all out on this album.â

Speaking about the song writing process, Thirlwall said: âWe do it through a lot of personal experiences in our lives like relationships and stuff so we try to write for our fans and we think about what we would like to hear.â
"If people want to be like us or dress like us and see us as role models then thatâs lovely"

But she said that they are also keen to inspire their fans or âmixersâ.
Thirlwall continued: âThere are a few songs on that album like Clued Up and I Wonât â songs that are there to make you feel better about yourself or inspire.â
The girls have fast become one of the biggest girl groups around and saw their debut single Black Magic from the new album spend three weeks at No. 1 â but they donât want to be seen as role models.
âI donât think we brand ourselves as role models weâre just doing what we want to do,â Edwards said. âWeâre four young girls, weâre going to do stupid things every now and again and I think if people want to be like us or dress like us and see us as role models then thatâs lovely â but we donât want to take on that responsibility. Itâs a massive compliment.â
The four piece â who met during the X Factor in 2011 after they were put together and mentored by Tulisa Contostavlos â collaborated with Jason Derulo on Secret Love Song and now have their sights set on Nicki Minaj.
Speaking about working with the Anaconda singer, Pinnock said: âWhen will that day come, please? Weâve said from the beginning we love her so much and I think her with us would be perfect.â
After celebrating the release of Get Weird the girls are planning a massive party - organised by Pinnock's sister "because she is a great party planner" - a holiday together and have plans to launch a fashion line.
Pinnock said: "Weâd love to launch a fashion line. We'd like to do something with Topshop, H&M or River Island."
Get Weird is out now.
