Piers Morgan compared to an ‘a**’ as he calls himself Colin Firth’s twin

Piers Morgan left himself wide open to ridicule after he likened himself to Colin Firth.

Morgan joked that he could be the British heartthrob’s twin – but Firth’s fans were unconvinced.

The Good Morning Britain presenter tweeted a picture of himself suited up alongside another of Firth walking a red carpet.

He captioned the shot: “To be fair, we could be twins. #firth.”

Predictably Morgan struggled to find anyone who agreed he looks like Firth, with many comparing him and the Mr Darcy actor to Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger in Twins.

One Twitter user posted: “If Colin swapped his a** for his face....then maybe.”

A second wrote: “You mean like the Danny DeVito, Arnold Schwarzenegger film Twins? You being Danny DeVito obviously.”

A third tweeted: “Only to people who should have gone to Specsavers.”

Others were less harsh, with one even comparing him to 007. They tweeted: “Piers Morgan might just be the real life James Bond.”

Morgan posted the tweet after claming he was mistaken for the Kingsman actor while checking on to a British Airways flight.

Clearly bowled over by the comparison, he tweeted the exchange, posting: “’Good morning, Mr Firth!’ - @British_Airways 1st Class check-in desk lady to me just now.

“THIS is why I always fly BA..”

The tweets comes weeks after Morgan was compared to bedraggled scarecrow Worzel Gummidge, Catweazle the wizard and “corned beef” after he tweeted a picture of his sunburnt face while wearing black sunglasses and brandishing a beard.

He then asked his followers whether he looks more like Clooney or Tom Hanks’ character in Castaway.
