Sir Paul McCartney is being advised by his daughter Stella to collaborate with Thom Yorke, but he's concerned the Radiohead frontman will refuse his offer.
The Beatles legend has been urged by Stella to work with the Radiohead frontman but he admits, despite being keen, he is afraid the 44-year-old singer will turn down his offer because his schedule is too hectic to fit him in.
Speaking to NME magazine, he said: "My daughter Stella is very keen. She's got a project, she keeps saying to me, 'Ring Thom and just go into the studio and just see what you come out with.'
"I'm a bit sort of paranoid to just ring him up. 'Hey Thom, it's Paul here. What do you fancy, what are you doing? Do you fancy writing something?' Just in case he says, 'Er, actually I'm busy'."
However, the 71-year-old music icon insists he'd love to team up with Bob Dylan but is adamant he will never find anyone better than John Lennon.
He explained: "There were big rumours a couple of years ago about me and Bob Dylan writing together, and I've still got that at the back of my mind. I would like to do it. But I'm spoiled for collaborators because I had John. And I've got to be very unrealistic to think I'll find a better collaborator than him."
Sir Paul's upcoming album New is set for release on October 14.
