Chef bites into Big Apple

Gordon Ramsay is to open his first American venture, in New York.
The 39-year-old TV chef has signed a contract to open a restaurant at the five-star Marriott Righa Royal Hotel in Manhattan in April next year.
It will have a 100-seat fine dining area, a less formal eating room and a bar.
Ramsay, who plans a second US outlet in Miami, will be in charge himself at first. He said: 'It is the burning ambition of every top chef to succeed in New York. To be there is so exciting.'
