Ellen DeGeneres addresses claims her Cotswolds home has been hit by ‘worst flooding in years’

Ellen DeGeneres has addressed reports that her new Cotswolds house has been hit by the “worst flooding in years”.

The 66-year-old talk show host and her wife, Portia de Rossi, recently moved to the six-bedroom farmhouse after deciding to leave the US following Trump’s election win.

Last week, the UK was hit by torrential rain, 80 mph winds, and severe flooding, leaving residents struggling to cope with the aftermath.

A local near the couple’s South West property told MailOnline: “The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I have seen it in years.”

Despite alarming images of flooding in the region, DeGeneres addressed the rumours on an Instagram and clarified that their 43-acre estate had not been affected when the River Thames overflowed, writing: “P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood”.

Also in the post, the former Ellen Show host offered a peek at their picturesque Cotswolds home as she celebrated 20 years with the Arrested Development actress.

She added: “20 years ago today we began this relationship not realising what a long beautiful adventure this would be.

“You are the best thing that ever happened in my life. You take care of me. You help me see the good in everything. You help to guide me and pick me up when I feel off or down.”

“You are a beautiful soul that I am so very grateful to have as a partner to navigate this crazy life with. My wife. My best friend. The love of my life,” she continued.

“Thank you for being you and loving me. So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas.”

The couple paid £2.5 million above their farmhouse’s asking price. The property is believed to have been renovated 15 years ago and features six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a five-bay garage, and a one-bedroom guest cottage.

Additional amenities include a gym, a games room, and private offices. While they’ve not shared any plans to return to the U.S., a source close to the pair claimed their move was influenced by the outcome of the recent election.

The former talk show host openly supported Democratic candidate Kamala Harris during the election, even contributing to her campaign.

On Instagram, she expressed her enthusiasm, writing: “There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come! I can’t wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president.”

After Harris’s loss, a source told TMZ that the couple decided to leave the US, feeling “very disillusioned” with the state of the country.

However, DeGeneres isn’t the only American star to relocate—Barbie actor America Ferrera recently moved to the UK with her husband, Ryan Piers Williams, and their son, Sebastian.
