Wayne's World's Dana Carvey announces death of son, 32, from âaccidental overdoseâ

US comedian and actor Dana Carvey has announced the death of his âextremely talentedâ son from an accidental overdose at the age of 32.
The Wayneâs World star, 68, said he and his wife Paula Zwagerman had suffered a âterrible tragedyâ on Wednesday evening following the death of their âbeloved sonâ Dex.
âDex packed a lot into those 32 years,â Carvey said in a statement on Instagram.
âHe was extremely talented as so many things â music, art, film making, comedy â and pursued all of them passionately.
âItâs not an exaggeration to say that Dex loved life. And when you were with him, you loved life too. He made everything fun.
âBut most of all, he loved his family, his friends and his girlfriend, Kaylee.
âDex was a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. We will miss him forever.â
Carvey, who won an Emmy award in 1993 for outstanding individual performance in US comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live, said to those struggling with addiction or those who have loved ones struggling with addiction âyou are in our hearts and prayersâ.
He later shared a photograph of himself laughing with his son on Instagram, captioning it: âDex and me working together. What a joy.â
Dex starred in a number of TV series alongside his father, including The Funster in 2013, Beyond The Comics a year later and Carpool Pandering in 2016, as well as opening his fatherâs TV comedy special titled Straight White Male, 60, in the same year.
