Arsenal are currently without a permanent head coach after the club's board decided Unai Emery had run out of time.

With results and performances stagnating, Arsenal made the decision to sack Emery on 29 November, installing Freddie Ljungberg as interim head coach.

Emery arrived at Arsenal with a reputation as a Europa League specialist, winning the competition three years in a row between 2014 and 2016 with Sevilla - but the Spaniard lost the 2018/19 final 4-1 to Chelsea in a result which also saw the Gunners miss out on Champions League football.

Emery was backed in the summer as Arsenal smashed their transfer record to sign £72million Nicolas Pepe, but the young winger failed to impress under the coach's tutelage - and when results dried up, the fans turned on Emery.

The final straw was a 2-1 Europa home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt, with thousands of fans staying away as the empty seats told their own story.

Ljungberg faces a tall order to turn things around with a squad low on confidence - but here's a reminder of how the table looked when Arsenal decided to part company with Emery.
