Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has appeared to question the Premier League's decision to award Harry Kane the winning goal against Stoke.

Tottenham lodged an appeal with the Premier League after they had awarded Spurs' winner at the bet365 Stadium to Christian Eriksen and not Kane, despite the striker insisting the Dane's free-kick had touched his shoulder on its way into the goal.

Kane is keen to win the Golden Boot award for the third straight season - a rare feat in Premier League history - and, after a three-person panel at the Premier League reviewed footage of the goal, they decided to give the goal to the England international.

The decision means Kane now has 25 goals in the Premier League this season, four behind Salah who has 29.

Shortly after the Premier League had confirmed their decision to award the goal to Kane, Salah appeared to express his surprise.

Writing on Twitter on Wednesday, Salah said: "Wooooooow really ?"

Liverpool team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold replied to the tweet with a series of puzzled-face emojis.

Salah has five more league games in which to end his debut season at Liverpool with the Golden Boot award, while Kane has six games to pip the Egyptian to the prize with Spurs holding a game in hand.
