Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou says he is aiming to "fulfil the dreams and aspirations of every Tottenham supporter" as he starts work at the club.
The Australian was confirmed as Spursâ new manager almost a month ago, signing a four-year contract to become Antonio Conte's permanent successor after impressing at Celtic.
His challenge is now to bring that attacking style of play to Tottenham, where fans have had to endure some fairly turgid football under Conte and even during Jose Mourinhoâs reign in the recent past.
"I like to win, thatâs the main thing, and Iâve done that wherever Iâve been, " he told the club's official website.

"The football is designed to bring success. Alongside that itâs really important to me that there is an element of what I think most fans and players want to be associated with, and thatâs football thatâs exciting, that people talk about, not just the end result but also the manner in which you played your football.
âThatâs really important to me, a, because I think itâs a way to be successful and also secondly, because it allows people to grab onto those things that are most special about our game, those memorable moments.
âPeople want to see their team scoring goals, being exciting, not conceding goals, being aggressive in their approach, all these kinds of things that everyone seeks in their own football team. Thatâs what I want to try to provide. The basis of it will be that we want to be a team that wins things and, ultimately, entertains our fans.
âIâm very excited about the challenge ahead - an enormous football club, exciting league, I guess all the things you strive for in your professional career. Itâs great to be here and getting ready to work.â
Postecoglou officially starts work today and is working on getting to know the players and his new surroundings. The squad returns for pre-season from next week, though the likes of Harry Kane and new signing James Maddison are due back on July 10 after an extended break.
He continued: âStaff, players, people associated with the club, they need to get to know me and what Iâm about. If they get to know me and believe in me, whatever I need to do after that is easier. Thatâs the first bit.
âItâs a huge organisation and, for me, to allow that to happen means I have to be present in as many areas as I can be in this early part, and thatâs what I will try to do, make sure Iâm present in every aspect of the football club, so people at least have some exposure to me.
âBeyond that, itâs working with the players. They are the most important people. Players are the most important people in this football club and every football club. We have six weeks - how can we prepare these guys to make sure come the first weekend of Premier League football that weâre ready to go?â
Postecoglou moves to north London from Celtic, where he claimed five of six domestic trophies available during a dominant two-year spell and completed a Treble in his final game in charge the Scottish Cup final win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Hampden Park.

âIâm looking forward to all of it,â he said. âThere is not one bit of it Iâm not looking forward to. I understand that there is great expectation here, great responsibility, thatâs not lost on me.
âItâs not just about going out there and saying, âthis is wonderful, what a great experienceâ, Iâve taken the responsibility on of a massive football club, great history and with a supporter base thatâs craving for football and more great moments to add to the historical base weâve already got.
âI understand that. I love that too. Thatâs exactly where I want to be. I donât want to be anywhere else. I want to be in that position of having that responsibility, understanding that and embracing that. Iâm looking forward to that challenge.
âItâs a great moment, a proud moment not just for myself but for my family and friends and people who have been on that journey, because theyâve all lived those experiences with me. My main thoughts will be on the responsibility I bear and the excitement I have within me that I can fulfil those dreams and aspirations of every Tottenham supporter.â
