Lewis Hamilton recorded his third victory of the Formula One season at the Spanish Grand Prix to continue Mercedes' perfect start to the campaign.

The 34-year-old passed team-mate Valtteri Bottas, who had qualified on pole for the race, at the first turn and never looked back to edge closer to Michael Schumacher's all-time wins record.

With Bottas finishing as the runner-up, the German team continued their dominance of the sport with rivals Ferrari struggling again.

Max Verstappen finished ahead of Sebastian Vettel to take his second podium of the season, while Charles Leclerc again came home in fifth.

That now reflects their places in the driver's standings too, with Red Bull's Pierre Gasly rising to sixth after matching his best finish of the season.
