Rugby World Cup 2019 final pool tables and results: Groups, scores and RWC standings

The 2019 Rugby World Cup has reached the quarter-finals, with eight teams left battling for global supremacy in the first tournament to be held in Asia.

England, who are on course to meet the All Blacks in the semi-finals, won their group and will face New Zealand in the last eight, while Wales will meet France after Pools C and D were short on shock results.

It was in Pool A where much of the early World Cup thrills and spills occurred. Hosts Japan beat both Ireland and Scotland en route to topping their pool to set up a quarter-final against South Africa, who they upset in the pool stages at the last World Cup.

Ireland - ranked world No1 before the tournament - advanced from that pool as runners-up and will face holder New Zealand next.
