Thorpe ruled out of fourth Test

England batsman Graham Thorpe has ruled himself out of contention for the fourth Test against Australia at Headingley.  

He has failed to recover from his finger injury.

Thorpe sustained the fracture batting against Brett Lee in the second Test defeat at Lord's.

But he was hopeful of returning in time for the penultimate match which begins next Thursday.

However, after undergoing a fitness test Thorpe has ruled himself out, claiming his hand "is still very sensitive".
